"The factors predisposing to PVT after OLT include rejection, technical problems during the surgery, use of vein grafts and conduits, preoperative PVT, previous portasystemic shunts and splenectomy, hypercoagulable state, and significant development of gastroesophageal collaterals. Among them, few cases of PVT caused by coronary vein (CV) steal after OLT have been reported," wrote B.Y. Koo and colleagues.
