Reports summarize cytomegalovirus study results from F. Clinckart and co-researchers

"Basiliximab (BAS), an interleukin-2 monoclonal antibody, has shown promising results as induction therapy in liver and kidney transplantation. We compared the efficacy and patient tolerability of BAS and antithymocyte globulin (ATG) in lung transplantation (LTx)," scientists in Yvoir, Belgium report.

"The study included 37 patients in two groups (ATG and BAS, respectively). The indication for LTx was emphysema in 62.6% of patients in group 1 and 57.1% of patients in group 2.
