According to a study from Aachen, Germany, "Matrix-Gla Protein (MGP) is a vitamin K-dependent protein acting as a local inhibitor of vascular calcification. Vitamin K-antagonists (oral anticoagulant;OAC) inhibit the activation of MGP by blocking vitamin K-metabolism."
