New thrombosis cell biology data have been reported by investigators at University of Wurzburg, DFG Research Center for Experimental Biomedicine

Research findings, 'Calcium signaling in platelets,' are discussed in a new report. According to recent research published in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, "Agonist-induced elevation in cytosolic Ca2+ concentrations is essential for platelet activation in hemostasis and thrombosis. It occurs through Ca2+ release from intracellular stores and Ca2+ entry through the plasma membrane (PM)."
