New renal disease study results from V.Y. Pao et al described
Published in Blood Weekly, July 30th, 2009
According to recent research published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, "Nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) is a disease of thickened, hard, hyperpigmented skill lesions with or without systemic fibrosis occurring in patients with renal insufficiency and associated with the administration of gadolinium-containing contrast. The pathogenesis of this disease is unclear, and there is no definitive treatment."
