According to a study from Toronto, Canada, "The aim of this study was to examine the expression of carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1) in pancreatic endocrine tumors (PETS) and to correlate it with clinicopathologic parameters. Sixty-nine PETs were examined for tumor size, necrosis, local peripancreatic invasion and lymphovascular invasion, lymph node, and liver metastasis."

"The mitotic count, expressed per 10 high-power fields (HPF) and MIB1 index were assessed and tumors were classified according to the World Health Organization classification. A tissue microarray was constructed and stained with an extensive panel of endocrine markers...
