Studies from NanJing University, Institute of Nephrology have provided new data on renal replacement therapy

New investigation results, 'Crush syndrome after the Wenchuan earthquake: new experience with regional citrate anticoagulation continuous veno-venous hemofiltration,' are detailed in a study published in International Journal of Artificial Organs. "Acute renal failure (ARF) related to crush syndrome is usually treated with hemodialysis. Continuous veno-venous hemofiltration (CVVH) has seldom been adopted in this situation due to the main drawback of continuous anticoagulation," scientists writing in the International Journal of Artificial Organs report.
