Research results from Logan College of Chiropractic, Medical Department update knowledge of hematopoietic system

In this recent article published in the journal Transplantation, scientists in the United States conducted a study "To test the angiogenesis-promoting effects of bone marrow cells when cotransplanted with islets. Streptozotocin-induced diabetic BALB/c mice were transplanted syngeneically under the kidney capsule: (1) 200 islets, (2) 1 to 5 x 10(6) bone marrow cells, or (3) 200 islets and 1 to 5 x 10(6) bone marrow cells."
