Investigators at University of Amsterdam, Center of Infection and Immunity Amsterdam have published new data on sepsis

A report, 'Recent insights into the pathogenesis of bacterial sepsis,' is newly published data in The Netherlands Journal of Medicine. "Sepsis is a very heterogeneous clinical syndrome broadly defined as the systemic host response to an infection. Until very recently, the prevailing concept of the pathogenesis of sepsis was that mortality is the consequence of an uncontrolled hyperinf lammatory response of the host," scientists writing in the The Netherlands Journal of Medicine report.
