Recent findings from University of Pennsylvania, Department of Pharmacology highlight research in bone marrow cells

2010 DEC 16 -- Current study results from the report, 'Infusion of mature megakaryocytes into mice yields functional platelets,' have been published. "Thrombopoiesis, the process by which circulating platelets arise from megakaryocytes, remains incompletely understood. Prior studies suggest that megakaryocytes shed platelets in the pulmonary vasculature," scientists in the United States report.
