New systemic lupus erythematosus study findings reported from University of Sao Paulo, Division of Rheumatology

2010 DEC 23 -- Fresh data on systemic lupus erythematosus are presented in the report 'Autoimmune hemolytic anemia in systemic lupus erythematosus: association with thrombocytopenia.' According to recent research from Brazil, "Hematological disturbances are common in systemic lupus erythematous (SLE). Specifically, autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AHA) may manifest in SLE patients at the time of diagnosis or within the first year of the disease."
