2011 JAN 20 -- A report, 'Emergent morphogenesis: elastic mechanics of a self-deforming tissue,' is newly published data in Journal of Biomechanics. "Multicellular organisms are generated by coordinated cell movements during morphogenesis. Convergent extension is a key tissue movement that organizes mesoderm, ectoderm, and endoderm in vertebrate embryos," scientists writing in the Journal of Biomechanics report.
