Research Reports from University of Pisa Provide New Insights into Tissue Engineering

2011 APR 14 -- Data detailed in 'Sensing scaffolds to monitor cellular activity using impedance measurements' have been presented. According to a study from Pisa, Italy, "Scaffolds are cell adhesive matrices for the realisation of tissue constructs. Here we describe how scaffolds for tissue engineering can also be used as sensors for monitoring cellular activity such as adhesion and spreading."
