New Hepatitis C Virus Findings from University of Alexandria Described

2011 JUL 28 -- A new study, "Prevalence of hepatitis B surface antigen and hepatitis C virus antibodies among blood donors in Alexandria, Egypt," is now available. "Hepatitis B and C virus infections are common serious complications of blood transfusion. Over 6-month period in 2007/08 all samples from a blood bank in Alexandria, Egypt (n=3420) were tested for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibodies," scientists in Alexandria, Egypt report.
