Findings from Osaka University Provide New Insights into Sepsis

2011 AUG 25 -- New research, "Interleukin-1ß causes long-term potentiation deficiency in a mouse model of septic encephalopathy," is the subject of a report. According to the authors of recent research published in the journal Neuroscience, "Sepsis induces multiple organ dysfunction syndrome including septic encephalopathy (SE), which results in cognitive impairment. However, an effective treatment for SE remains unknown."
