New Blood Transfusion Study Findings Have Been Reported by Researchers at University of Wisconsin

2011 OCT 20 -- New investigation results, "p90 activation contributes to cerebral ischemic damage via phosphorylation of Na+/H+ exchanger isoform 1," are detailed in a study published in Journal of Neurochemistry. "Excessive activation of Na+/H+ exchanger isoform 1 (NHE-1) plays a role in cerebral ischemic injury. The current study investigated whether NHE-1 protein in ischemic brains is regulated by extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)/90-kDa ribosomal S6 kinase (p90(RSK)) signaling pathways," scientists in Madison, Wisconsin report.
