2012 FEB 23 -- According to the authors of a study from Budapest, Hungary, "Cerebral ischemia is a devastating condition in which the outcome is heavily influenced by inflammatory processes, which can augment primary injury caused by reduced blood supply. The cytokines interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1 alpha) and IL-1 beta are key contributors to ischemic brain injury."
