New Connective Tissue Cells Findings from Orthopedic Biomechanics Laboratory Published

2012 MAR 29 -- Investigators publish new data in the report "Engineered tendon with decellularized xenotendon slices and bone marrow stromal cells: an in vivo animal study. 'The purpose of this study was to investigate an engineered composite of multilayer acellular tendon slices seeded with bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) as a possible solution for tendon reconstruction. BMSCs were harvested from 15 rabbits and infraspinatus tendons were harvested from 17 dogs," scientists in Rochester, Minnesota report.
