Study Findings from General Hospital Provide New Insights into Blood Safety

2012 APR 26 -- A report, "Incidence and patterns of needlestick injuries during intermaxillary fixation," is newly published data in The British Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. "Intermaxillary fixation (IMF) carries an appreciable risk of occupational exposure to bloodborne viruses. Our aim was to establish the incidence and patterns of needlestick injuries during IMF at DAV Dental College," scientists writing in the The British Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery report.
