Claims Granted for Nontoxic Cancer Genomics Therapy

Infectech, Inc., Sharon, Pennsylvania, has received 14 patent claims for a cancer treatment.

The patent claims granted are for the nontoxic induction of apoptosis. Many present methods of cancer therapy, such as radiation treatment and tamoxifen, kill cancer cells by inducing apoptosis, also known as cell suicide and programmed cell death, but these methods are toxic to the patient.
