Findings from INSERM in Cancer Gene Therapy Reported

2011 MAR 14 -- Fresh data on Cancer Gene Therapy are presented in the report 'ß-Catenin and NF-'B cooperate to regulate the uPA/uPAR system in cancer cells.' According to a study from Paris, France, "Expression of the urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) and urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) has recently been shown to be directly regulated by the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway in colon cancer cells, through ß-catenin binding to T-cell factor binding element motifs present in their gene promoters.
