Metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumors treated with imatinib and resection

"GIST are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. Long-term survival of patients with metastatic disease has only been observed in patients with completely resected disease," researchers in Germany reported.
