"400 Autotransplants (AT) for Multiple Myeloma (MM)."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 36th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology, held December 2-6, 1994, in Nashville, Tennessee, "Lack of progress in the treatment of MM has prompted exploration of myeloablative therapy with autologous transplants (AT) as a means of effecting more marked tumor cytoreduction and thereby improving prognosis. Since 1985, 400 pts have undergone AT. The initial 55 pts received bone marrow (ABMT, <30% plasmacytosis) in support of TBI 850 cGy with either melphalan 140 mg/M2 (MEL 140) or thiotepa 750 mg/M2.
