Cancer Patients May Have Success with Testosterone

Prostate cancer patients have a new option for controlling the tumor's size, thus making it easier for doctors to remove all of the cancerous tissue during surgery.

"In patients with prostate cancer, testosterone-suppressing medications may cause, among other things, shrinkage of the tumor," said Dr. Mark Soloway, chairman of the Department of Urology at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Florida. "This could enhance the surgeon's ability to remove all of the cancerous tissue and make for improved surgical results."
