According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 31st Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, held May 20-23, 1995, in Los Angeles, California, "The direct intratumor injection of a plasmid DNA expression vector containing the human IL-2 gene into B16 melanoma bearing mice results in a statistically significant tumor reduction. C57BL6 mice were injected with 2x10 B16 melanoma tumor cells subcutaneously and then treated by direct intratumor injection of 50(mu)g of IL-2 plasmid DNA alone or formulated with the cationic lipid, DMRIE-DOPE (5:1 DNA to lipid mass ratio).
