A scientific advisory panel appointed by the [U.S.] Food and Drug Administration [FDA] unanimously recommended approval of the PAPNET Testing System, a sophisticated computer technology designed to enhance the ability of lab professionals to accurately and reliably evaluate Pap smears. The Pap smear is the test used to detect abnormalities that could be early signs of cervical cancer. Cervical cancer, if detected early, is almost always curable.
Today's decision may represent a significant milestone in women's health care, because, if approved, PAPNET Testing would be the first improvement...
