Genes Transform Inactive Pro-Drug into Pancreatic Cancer Killer

Two genes that may influence the progression of pancreatic cancer have been discovered by surgical researchers from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston.

The genes most likely are not the only genetic elements that play a role in the development of pancreatic cancer. However, both genes have not been identified before in any other capacity and they are found to be over-expressed in tissue samples of pancreatic cancer but not in corresponding normal tissue.
