Chemotherapy Drug Shown To Reduce Pain for Cancer Patients

The following statements were released by Immunex Corp., Seattle, Washington, regarding the June 1996 issue of the Journal of Clinical Oncology publication of a Phase III study of Novantrone (mitoxantrone) in advanced prostate cancer patients:

This Phase III study demonstrated for the first time that adding chemotherapy to a standard treatment of prednisone can significantly reduce the pain and suffering of patients with advanced prostate cancer, and extend the duration of relief.
