Pulmonary Fibrosis Risk After Radiotherapy Increased with Tamoxifen

Investigators at the University Hospital of Aarhus warned of this risk in the July 3, 1996, issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (J Natl Cancer Inst 1996;88:918-922).
Dr. Soren M. Bentsen and others analyzed data on 84 postmastectomy patients who received radiation therapy after surgery. Thirty-eight of these women received adjuvant tamoxifen in addition to radiation.
