Testicular Cancer Risk Higher in Certain Occupations

Men employed as miners, food and beverage processors, utility workers and leather industry workers are at increased risk of testicular cancer.

The data was published in a recent issue of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (J Occup Environ Med 1996;38:884-890). Dr. Julia A. Knight, Ontario Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation in Toronto compared the work histories of 495 men with testicular cancer and 974 randomly selected men from the general population.
