"Mycobacterium xenopi (MX) Pneumonia in a Patient with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 9th annual meeting of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, held October 10-12, 1996, in Chicago, Illinois, "Pulmonary infections caused by atypical mycobacteria are an increasingly common problem particularly in patients with impaired immunity. Herein we report a case of now a ten year old boy with acute Lymphoblastic leukemia who developed pneumonia five months after the completion of his three years of chemotherapy. He was diagnosed at 36 months of age with pre-B cell leukemia and was treated according to BFM protocol. His clinical course was uneventful.
