"DOX-SL (Stealth Liposomal Doxorubicin HCL) Maintenance Therapy After Response in AIDS Related Kaposi's Sarcoma."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 3rd International Congress on Drug Therapy in HIV Infection, held November 3-7, 1996, in Birmingham, United Kingdom, "Disseminated AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma requires cytotoxic chemotherapy for effective palliation. DOX-SL has previously been shown to achieve a response in up to 80% of patients. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a reduced dose of DOX-SL in maintaining a response achieved with a standard dose of DOX-SL. Patients with confirmed Kaposi's sarcoma requiring chemotherapy or had progressed despite previous conventional chemotherapy were enrolled. DOX-SL was given every 2 weeks at 20 mg/m2 until 2 cycles...
