To Therapy, held March 6-8, 1997, in Toulon, France, "The long unique region of KSHV has recently been mapped and sequenced. The genome is similar to that of other gamma-herpesviruses although major differences are also apparent. KSHV has a long unique coding region (ca. 140 kb) flanked by multiple high G:C terminal repeat units.
