Neopharm Licenses Cancer Drug To Biochem for Use in Canada

NeoPharm, Inc., Lake Forest, Illinois, announced the signing of a collaboration agreement with BioChem Therapeutic Inc., the wholly-owned subsidiary of BioChem Pharma, under which BioChem will develop, market, and distribute broxuridine in Canada. In December 1996, NeoPharm filed a New Drug Application (NDA) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requesting marketing approval for broxuridine. In March, the company announced that the NDA was accepted for review at the FDA. Upon approval, NeoPharm expects to market broxuridine in the U.S. market and to seek other licensing partners in international markets. In Canada, BioChem is currently preparing a New Drug...
