New Drug Delivery Technology Complements Gene Therapy

Inex Pharmaceuticals Corp., Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, has demonstrated in animal models that its proprietary drug delivery technology has the potential to carry therapeutic genes to disease sites throughout the body after intravenous administration, the company reported. Dr. John Warner, Inex's vice president of gene therapy and immunology, told a gene therapy conference that this capability is necessary to fight diseases such as metastatic cancers, which spread throughout the body.
