New R&D Agreement for Anticancer Research Announced

Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Princeton, New Jersey, and Research Triangle Institute, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, announced that they have entered into a research and licensing agreement to develop synthetic third-generation analogs of naturally occurring plant alkaloid compounds known as camptothecins, which are known to have unique cancer-fighting properties. Researchers at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Research Triangle Institute (RTI) believe that these camptothecin analogs have the potential to become efficacious chemotherapeutic agents.
