Mycelex Troche Acquired in U.S.

Alza Corp., Palo Alto, California, and Bayer Corp. announced that Alza has acquired Mycelex (clotrimazole) Troche in the United States.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bayer manufactures Mycelex Troche for Alza, and Alza makes payments to Bayer based on net sales of the product.

As a result of the agreement, Alza has exclusive marketing rights to Mycelex Troche in the United States. Since 1996, Alza has promoted Mycelex Troche under a promotion agreement with Bayer to AIDS healthcare providers, AIDS clinics, hospitals specializing in the treatment of AIDS patients, and to oncologists.
