Worldwide Exclusive License Provided for BRCA2 Gene Uses

OncorMed, Inc., Cancer Research Campaign (CRC) Technology and Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, announced that Cancer Research Campaign Technology and Duke University have granted OncorMed an exclusive, worldwide license to the BRCA2 gene and related discoveries for diagnostic services and products.

Inherited abnormalities in the BRCA2 gene are associated with a greatly elevated risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer. Preliminary data suggest BRCA2 also may play a role in the development of non-inherited breast cancers.
