Caring for Minds and Bodies of Women with Breast Cancer

An investigator for Kaiser Permanente's Division of Research in Oakland, California, Carol Somkin, Ph.D, presented to the Era of Hope conference in Washington, D.C., information about an innovative breast cancer peer support program in Northern California.

Researchers from across the nation attended the October 31-November 3, 1997 conference to report on studies funded by the U.S. Department of Defense's Era of Hope breast cancer research program. The audience included members of the scientific community, policymakers, and the public.
