According to an abstract submitted by the author to the 3rd European Conference on Gene Therapy of Cancer, held September 11-13, 1997, in Berlin, Germany, "The anti-tumor activity of interleukin 4 (IL-4) seems to be partially T cell independent. This makes this cytokine an attractive candidate for gene therapy of glioblastoma (GBM), a tumor that escapes immune surveillance also by depressing T lymphocytes activity.
