According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 37th ICAAC, held September 28 - October 1, 1997, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, "Background: Despite maximal antifungal therapy, neutropenia-related fungal infections in immunocompromised patients represent a significant cause of morbidity and mortality.
