Long-Term Gene Delivery Using Lentiviral Vectors Reported



November 24th, 1997

Cell Genesys, Inc., Foster City, California, announced that company collaborators at The Salk Institute have achieved successful long-term gene delivery to liver and muscle tissues using second generation lentiviral vectors.

The data demonstrate that following a single injection, gene expression was detected for at least six months and potentially indefinitely. These preclinical studies were described in the November 1997 issue of the journal Nature Genetics.
