Results of Effective Electroporation Therapy in Mice Announced

Genetronics Biomedical Ltd., San Diego, California, announced that the results of preclinical experiments using Genetronics' proprietary electroporation therapy to treat human pancreatic tumors in mice were published in the December 1997 issue of the journal "Drug Delivery" (vol. 4).

Primary human pancreatic tumors were subcutaneously implanted in nude mice and then treated with a single intratumoral injection of bleomycin followed ten minutes later by electrical pulsing. The objective response at day 28 was 88% - complete response 68% and 20% partial response (more than 80% reduction in tumor volume).
