"Quantitative Analysis of Transforming Growth Factor-Beta1 (TGF-Beta1) in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the American Thoracic Society, 1998 International Conference, held April 25-29, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois, "Recent studies indicate that TGF-b1 inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells and endothelial cells, but stimulates angiogenesis in animal models. In this study, we measured the levels of TGF-b1 in tumors and investigated the relation among TGF-b1, tumor cell proliferation and tumor angiogenesis. Intratumoral protein level of TGF-b1 was measured by ELISA (R&D Systems) in 43 non-small cell lung cancer tissues (15 squamous cell carcinoma and 28 adenocarcinoma).
