According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 89th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, held March 28 - April 1, 1998, in New Orleans, Louisiana, "An anti-tumor immunity (type 1 T cell responses, Th1 responses) does not operate well in hosts bearing tumor-associated type 2 T cell responses (Th2 responses), because type 1 cytokines (IL-2, IFN-gamma) usually are not produced in tumor-bearing hosts. Z-100 has been shown to be an inhibitor of Th2 responses in tumor-bearing mice.
