The study, conducted at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, held in Phoenix, Arizona, October 25-29, 1998.
"The study found that high dose three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy is better than standard external beam treatment," said Gerald Hanks, MD, Fox Chase Cancer Center. "And if good treatment is better than average treatment, then it is certainly better than no treatment," Hanks said.
