Autologous Melanoma Cell Vaccine Generates Immunity

A phase I clinical trial demonstrated that vaccination with irradiated autologous melanoma cells engineered to secrete human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) was capable of generating a potent antitumor immunity in metastatic melanoma patients.
