Oral 5'-DFUR and MPA Reduce Pain in Cancer Patients

Oral 5'-deoxy-5-fluorouridine (5'DFUR) and medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) improved clinical outcomes and reduced pain in breast cancer patients with painful bone metastasis.

M. Kusama, representing colleagues from the Tokyo Medical University and the Tokyo Metropolitan Cancer Detection Center, Japan, presented clinical trial data at the 35th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, held May 15-18, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia.
