HCV Genotype Does Not Influence HCC Development

Does genotype influence the development of hepatocellular carcinoma in patients with chronic hepatitis C' A study from Boston's Harvard Medical School suggests the answer is no.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a well recognized cause of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but the pathogenic significance of HCV genotypes in hepatocarcinogenesis is unknown.
