K. Tarte and colleagues from INSERM, France, sought to evaluate whether tumor cells from patients with multiple myeloma activate allogeneic and autologous T cells. They reported their findings in a recent issue of the Journal of Immunology ( "Induced Expression of B7-1 on Myeloma Cells Following Retroviral Gene Transfer Results in Tumor-Specific Recognition by Cytotoxic T Cells," Journal of Immunology, July 1, 1999;163(1):514-524).
